讲座内容简介：

1.The main historical features of teaching Algebra in Russia (for students specializing in Natural Science, especially in Physics and Math) - in Russia we teach Higher Algebra even on basic level combining the standard Linear Algebra methods with principle concepts of Abstract Algebra (as groups, rings, fields, algebras and so on); example of my "Higher Algebra" program for first-year students of School of Math and Mechanics at Novosibirsk State University (NSU)

2. How we provide an advanced approach to most skilled students - we use scientists from Research institutes (like Sobolev Institute of Mathematics of Russian Academy of Science) to this goal; example of my 2-year advanced "Higher Algebra" program for students from the Specialized Research Group in Math of School of Math and Mechanics at NSU.

3. How we teach Algebra now and planning to teach in the future (in COVID and post-COVID time) - I will briefly describe general approaches and give some examples of how I do this online.

主讲人简介：

Andrey Vasilyev教授1996年获得俄罗斯数学-物理理学博士学位，2006年获得俄罗斯数学-物理科学博士学位。2006年至今先后任俄罗斯科学院Sobolev数学研究所研究员、首席研究员、教授、兼任新西伯利亚国立大学代数和数理逻辑部主任。1996年获得西伯利亚地区代数和逻辑奖；2002年获得俄罗斯科学院西伯利亚分院年轻科学家奖章；2008年获得俄罗斯总统奖；2015年评为俄罗斯国家突出贡献专家；2019年入选江苏省百人计划专家。主要研究领域：有限群及其表示，李型群，单群，置换群，Schur环，图同构。
