1. Research Directions:
Platform of Disease Control and Drug Effect Analysis
establish the mathematical models of gene regulation effect based on molecular structure, use the mathematical models describing interaction of molecular in biological tissues to explain structure of protein, reconstruct and analyze lots of observational and experimental data, tract and discover the scope and change region of disease gene, introduce research on functional genomics and genes with important traits; through the construction and application of genetics databases, build distributed biological database system, analyze the data consolidation of related molecular biology and technology of genomic databases, construct the prediction, analysis, reconstruction and modeling techniques and software development of the gene regulatory network, epigenetic network, signal transduction, biochemical metabolism. These would explain the role of genetic element in various diseases including the severe ones harmful to human health such as cancer.
Platform of Environment and Ecological Treatment and Assessment
Focus on research frontiers of circadian clocks internationally based on blue-green algae clock, promote the basic research on theoretical models of circadian clocks, provide new thought and experience for other biological clocks in application, build and improve the platform of environment and ecological treatment and assessment. Our research would provide theoretic background and application guidance for blue-green algae pollution in Lake Taihu.
Platform of Control on Fermentation Process
According to characteristics of the fermentation process, acquire and control the data of field; realize the real-time connection with upper management information system by high speed, reliable and open system analysis; achieve optimal control and safety practices of fermentation process, develop friendly man-machine interface; supervise, control and optimize fermentation process in real-time, safe and reliable, establish gradually the platform of control on fermentation process.
